Position Description: Members carry out the program and policies adopted by the General Convention and have charge of the coordination, development, and implementation of the ministry and mission of the Church. The Executive Council is required to manage the budget of the Church, submit to General Convention a budget for the next triennium, and make annual reports to the Church of receipts and disbursements and a statement of all trust funds and properties. They also serve as the Board of Directors of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society.
Competencies and qualities a nominee should have: Nominees should have a deep commitment to the Church, strong faith, openness to new ideas, flexibility, ability to communicate in small and large groups, and a broad perspective of the Church, not limited to one or two interests.
Duties of this
office:
Number of meetings per year: 3 (February, June and October
Customarily: 2 meetings - Monday to Thursday;
1 meeting - Friday to Monday
Usual location of meetings: Locations vary (at least one meeting each triennium has been outside of USA)
Usual length of meetings: 4 days (including travel days)

Other information: Bishops (by PB) and other members (by President of HoD) may be appointed as liaison persons of CCABs of General Convention. Such service involves attending meetings lasting from 1 to 5 days per year. Standing Committees of the Council may meet in the interim between Council’s regular meetings for 2 or 3 days with additional travel time. Additional information: Canon I.4.
