North Star Academy Gear-Up Tutoring Program
The Academic Foundations Center and the Department of Urban Education, in collaboration with North Star Academy Charter School, provide tutoring sessions for middle school children attending North Star Academy Charter School. The Rutgers University-Newark campus hosts tutoring sessions in the Rutgers Learning Center during the academic year.
The tutoring sessions provide the children from North Star Academy Charter School with an opportunity to work one-on-one with an undergraduate tutor in the areas of reading and writing. More importantly, the sessions provide the children with an opportunity to visit and explore the Rutgers University - Newark campus.
