A PANORAMIC VIEW OF ANIMAL SKULLS

MEDIUM: CHARCOAL ON PAPER

ARTIST STATEMENT: Carolyn Carabajal's works display a series of animal skulls in a surrealistic manner. Using acrylic and characoal, she shows a dramatic and emotional approach towards skulls. The use of balck, white, and gray tones, create a dramatic effect in the painting. The use of color and soft, delicate brushstrokes show the artist's appreciation of inner beauty of the animals. She brings out the life in the skulls as she connects the different angles of teh animal skulls. The whole series of animals skulls represent the appreciation of life after death.
