PLANNING OF CONFERENCE PROGRAMS

• "The Library: Your On-ramp to the Information Superhighway" Fourth Annual Conference of the Educational Affairs Task Force (Library Automation and Networking Committee) of the New Jersey Intercampus Network, Piscataway, NJ, May 26, 1995. Planned program as a member of the Program Subcommittee.

• "The Internet: Gopher It!" Third Annual Conference of the Educational Affairs Task Force (Library Automation and Networking Committee) of the New Jersey Intercampus Network, Randolph, NJ, May 20, 1994. Member of the Program Subcommittee and moderator of a break-out session.

• "CD-ROM Interoperability: Platforms and Interfaces." Presented by the LITA Optical Information Systems Interest Group at the annual conference of the American Library Association, New Orleans, LA, June 27, 1993. Planned and chaired this program, where speakers addressed the design and use of CD-ROMs across different computing platforms and operating systems.

• "Online, On Disc, On Tape, On Demand," Second Annual Conference of the Educational Affairs Task Force (Library Automation and Networking Committee) of the New Jersey Intercampus Network, Hoboken, NJ, May 14, 1993. Co-Program Chair of this one-day conference: selected speakers from academe and the information industry, and coordinated vendor exhibits and round-table discussions.

• "The Reliability and Longevity of CD-ROMs." Presented by the LITA Optical Information Systems Interest Group at the 1993 mid-Winter meeting of the American Library Association, Denver, CO, January 24, 1993. Organized background readings and led discussion in place of original speaker.

• "CD-ROM LANs and WANs: What's The Difference?" Presented by the LITA Optical Information Systems Interest Group at the annual conference of the American Library Association, San Francisco, CA, June 28, 1992. Planned and chaired this program, which compared the technologies of local and wide area networking of CD-ROM databases; speakers also discussed licensing and management issues related to the networking of databases.

• "The Realities of CD-ROM Networking." Presented by the Educational Affairs Task Force of the New Jersey Intercampus Network, Newark, NJ, May 15, 1992. This one-day conference featured speakers from academic institutions and private sector firms. Acted as liaison to representatives from the vendor firms, and moderated the panel discussion. Responsible for local arrangements on Rutgers-Newark campus.

• "The Special Interest Group on CD-ROM Applications and Technologies (SIGCAT)," of the U.S. Geological Survey, was featured as a program of the Optical Information Systems Interest Group at the 1992 mid-Winter meeting of the American Library Association, San Antonio, TX, January 28, 1992.

• "How to Succeed in Business Reference...." Presented by the New Jersey Library Association Reference Section, Newark, NJ, October 27, 1989. In collaboration with Judy Gardner, Theo Haynes, and Roberta Tipton, planned and conducted this one-day conference. Approximately 100 librarians from academic, public, and special libraries attended the conference.
