shoemaker at work in Empress Market Besides the bazaars located all over the city, there are also shops in the major hotels and malls. In many of the bazaars and markets, shopkeepers typically bargain with customers for the best prices.

Agha’s
Air-conditioned grocery store located at Shawn Circle. Exported items are readily available here. Often the selection of foods is slightly different than Paradise Store.

APWA Handicrafts
This shop is located on Abdullah Haroon Road and is a haven for good quality handicrafts. You will find embriodered table linen, cushion covers, hand-woven durries, metal and marble knick knacks, and many other items.

Avari Hotel
Several shops are located within the hotel. Quality is usually excellent and prices are expensive.

Bohri Bazaar
This is the most famous shopping area of Karachi. The bazaar continues on either side of Raja Ghazanfar Ali road, with scores of shops spread over a large area in a maze of narrow streets. Because of the large variety available here it is one of the most popular shopping areas for purchase of ready-made garments for men, women, and children. You can also find second hand clothes, lace, cushion covers, wigs, bangles, cutlery, crockery, etc. here.

Botal Gali (Bottle Lane)
Located on Hasan Ali Lane across from KMC Office building on M.A. Jinna Road. These shops sell recycled bottles, bottle caps, oils, and perfumes.

Daily Bazaars
Weekday bazaars — bazaars only open one day a week — are strewn throughout the city. Because of the enormous number and variety of these bazaars, it is good for the tourist to know to ask for ‘Tuesday bazaar’ or ‘Monday Bazaar’ to see if one is located in a near-by vicinity.

Empress Market

Because of its central location and reasonably priced merchandise, the market is frequented by people from all walks of life. Hand-made shoes, animals (dogs, cats, birds, monkeys, rabbits, etc.) fresh vegetables, meat, seafood and other items are available for purchasing in this very large market area.

Khori Garden
This bazaar is dedicated to cheap, second hand magazines and old books in good condition.

Light House Bazaar
Off M.A. Jinnah Road. Famous for shops selling carpet remnants, bicycles, picture frames, and second-hand clothing.

Marriott Hotel
Several shops are located within the hotel. Quality is usually excellent and prices are expensive.

Paradise Store
Air-conditioned grocery store located at Shawn Circle. Exported items are readily available here. Often the selection of foods is slightly different than Agha’s.

Park Towers
McDonald's at The Point Located at The Point. This development consists of an AC’ed shopping mall and a few fast food outlets. You will find here ready-made western and Pakistan clothing, along with outlets covering a range of items from clothing, shoes, food, etc. Tes-mart, a grocery store with a lot of imported items, is also located here.

Pearl Continental Hotel
Several shops are located within the hotel. Quality is usually excellent and prices are expensive. Frequently, a Saturday night clothing bazar is set up inside of the PC Hotel.

Saddar Cooperative Market
carpets for sale This market, located on Abdullah Haroon Road, sells a host of handicrafts consisting of brass, onyx, and wood items. It also stocks shawls and men’s clothing and has several tailoring shops. Another part of this market is known as Saddar Electronics market. There is a large variety of every imaginable electronic item sold here.

Saddar Shopping
general store Saddar is by far the largest shopping area in Karachi with every imaginable item available. This historical bazaar is a composite of famous smaller bazaars and markets.

Sani
This grocery store is located on the side of the Pearl Continental Hotel. Some exported items are often available here.

Sheraton Hotel
Several shops are located within the hotel. Quality is usually excellent and prices are expensive.

Tariq Road Shopping
bolts of fabric Tariq Road provides a variety of goods. In addition to shops selling local goods there are shops which sell imported items as well. Located on Tariq road is Robi Center, known for shops selling all kinds of fabric. Doleman mall is a newly built complex that has shops such as Levi/Dockers, Bed and Bath, Liberty Books, etc. A row of jewelry shops selling 22K gold jewelry is also located here.

Tes-Mart
Air-conditioned grocery store located at Park Towers. Exported items are readily available here.

Zainab Market
Located on Abdulla Haroon Road. This market offers a variety of goods. In these shops you will find onyx and wood gift items, embroidered hangings, bedspreads, and Kashmir shawls, all available at bargain prices. You can also find a good deal of ready-made clothing for men, women, and children.
