Q:  Is any financial aid available?
A:  Unfortunately, we are unable to provide financial assistance for those that enroll in the Master’s program.  However, the program is flexible enough to allow part-time students to earn money and their degree simultaneously.

 

Q:  What are the “minimum requirements” to enter the Master’s Program?

A:  There are no minimum requirements as all applicants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  However, for foreign students an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score is required of nonnative speakers of English. The minimum TOEFL score is 213 (computer version) and 550 (paper version).

 

Q:  What are the requirements for earning a Master’s in this program?

A:  There are 3 core classes: Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory, and Econometrics I.  In addition, you must take 7 additional electives.

 

Q:  Can I enroll as a part-time student and take only night classes? 

A:  Part-time students can expect many courses to be offered in the late afternoon and at night.


Q:  How do I apply? 

A:  Application information can be found at http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu/.  You are required to submit an undergraduate transcript, 3 letters of recommendation, a brief resume, a personal statement, and test scores (GRE or GMAT, and TOEFL for foreign students).

 

Q:  What are the admission deadlines?

A:  July 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester. Applicants living abroad must apply by November 1 for the spring semester and April 1 for the fall semester.

 

Q:  I was in the program at one time, but never finished.  Can I re-enroll?

A:  Yes, with permission.  You must fill out a form for re-entry which is available at the Graduate Student Dean’s office or on line at http://rutgers-newark.rutgers.edu/gradnwk/.
