Ancient Middle Eastern law codes survive from Egypt, Babylonia, and Israel, The best known of these are the code of Hammurabi and the Ten Commandments. (Selections are linked at the class Web site.) In your opinion, which are more significant, the similarities or the differences? To what extent do these codes treat class, gender, crime, justice, and punishment differently from what we have come to expect today? Please write a short essay of no more than one page in which you focus on your case, supporting it with brief quotes as evidence.
