About a month ago someone (Roz?) asked about e-mail tech support from
Microsoft. At that time web-based response was available only for a fee,
but according to this May 12 press release:

http://www.microsoft.com/corpinfo/press/1997/May97/TECHPR.htm

...you can now submit a question using a form on MS's web site, and get a
response within one business day. No limit, no charge. (Only available for
US & Canadian customers, however.) The location for submitting questions
isn't exactly prominently called out on MS's tech support page (the link
there still goes to the fee-based page), but I managed to ferret it out:

http://Microsoft.com/support/webresponse/pid/intropid.htm

Of course, you'll probably still get better help from the people on this
list, but I thought you'all'd like to hear about this. I haven't actually
tried it, since I didn't have a question to ask -- if someone uses it maybe
they'll let us know how it goes.

I'm off for a long weekend of tandemming in the San Juan islands, now that
the sunshine has finally made it to the Northwest. Eat your hearts out, and
happy word processing!
