Instructions and Information for AuthorsArticles are 6,000 words or less, though we welcome lengthier submissions. They are original works of research, literature reviews of current or recent work. Such works should clearly define the issue or problem being tackled, include an analysis or evaluation of the issue. Articles should be well argued and relevant to conceptual and theoretical issues in global affairs. Research Notes are short pieces of 800-2,000 words pieces dealing with methodological dilemmas, conceptual concerns, and other issues and challenges relevant to the field of global affairs. Book Reviews are 800-1,500 word pieces covering both English and non-English books. Reviews explore the implications of the book to the research and/or practice of global affairs from the reviewer's perspective. Style Guide1. The University of Chicago Press Electronic Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for Authors should be followed. 2. Manuscripts sent by e-mail must be formatted for Microsoft Windows computers in Microsoft Word. Submitted text must be clear and concise. 3. On the title page include full name, academic and/or other professional affiliations, and the complete e-mail or mailing address for correspondence. 4. Manuscripts will be accepted with the understanding that their content is unpublished and not submitted for publication elsewhere. 5. Authors will be notified of the status of their work by the editors within one month of submission. 6. Since this is an e-journal intended for a global audience whose primary language might not be English, straightforward language is preferred. 7. The JGCG is happy to receive manuscripts from those speaking a language other than English as their native language. The editors are willing to work with the author(s) to ensure appropriate English usage. An abstract in the first language of the author will be included in the published version. 8. Pre-publication proofs will be sent to authors for checking; the editors reserve the right to make minor editorial changes as they see fit. Citations All citations should be cited by a superior character of the corresponding number in the footnotes at the bottom of the page on which the reference appears. For further guidance, please consult the The Chicago Manual of Style.
