  Tim Raphael

Tim Raphael is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts and the director of the The Center for Immigration at Rutgers-Newark. As a theater director, producer, dramaturge, and adapter, he has developed over forty new American plays. He holds a doctorate in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, and has taught theater, performance studies, and American studies at Wesleyan University, Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, Ursinus College, Georgetown University, and the Universidade Aberta in Lisbon, Portugal. He has published articles in a wide variety of journals including The Drama Review, Theatre Journal, Theatre Topics, and Transformations. His book, The President Electric: Ronald Reagan and the Politics of Performance, is forthcoming from the University of Michigan Press.
