Course Requirements for English 9
There will be six short assignments (one or two pages) and three longer
papers (four or more pages). Students will also be required to give one
brief (ten-minute) presentation to the class on outside reading, and a
ten-to-fifteen-minute presentation on their final papers. Regular and
active class participation is essential. All students will be required to
have an E-mail account by the end of the second week of classes;
participation on the E-mail listserv will count toward the class
participation grade, and some essential information will be available only
over E-mail.
Readings
Several books are available from the Pennsylvania Book Center (not the
Penn Book Store!) at 36th and Walnut. The remainder of the readings are
available on-line on the English Gopher or English Web.
