Paula R. Backscheider

Paula R. Backscheider is Pepperell Eminent Scholar at Auburn University in Alabama. She specializes in Restoration and eighteenth-century literature, feminist criticism, and cultural studies. She is the author of Daniel Defoe: His Life and Spectacular Politics, and co-edited, with John Richetti, Popular Fiction by Women 1660-1730: An Anthology.
