Theodore E. D. Braun

Theodore E. D. Braun is a professor emeritus of French and Comparative Literature at the University of Delaware. He is the author of Un Ennemi de Voltaire. Le Franc de Pompignan, editor of Voltaire's Alzire, co-editor of Le Franc de Pompignan's opera Prométhée, of Man, God, and Nature in the Enlightenment, and of thirteen articles Voltaire wrote for the Encyclopédie, and co-author of two textbooks, First French and Second French. He has recently co-edited Disrupted Patterns: On Chaos and Order in the Enlightenment and a 200-page special feature on "Death and Dying" in 1650-1850: Ideas, Aesthetics, and Inquiries in the Early Modern Era.
