Frank Shuffelton
Frank Shuffelton is Professor of English at the University of
Rochester. He is the author of Thomas Hooker, 1586-1647,
Thomas Jefferson: A Comprehensive, Annotated Bibliography,
and Thomas Jefferson, 1981-1990: An Annotated Bibliography;
he is also editor of A Mixed Race: Ethnicity in Early
America and The American Enlightenment. He has been a
Mellon Faculty Fellow, NEH Senior Fellow, and President of
Northeast American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies
(1994-95), and has served on editorial boards of Early
American Literature, Studies in Eighteenth-Century
Culture, and the executive board of the MLA Division on
American Literature to 1800 (1994-99).
