Minutes of the Meetings on September 9-11, 1999

December 2-5, 1999

On September 9-11, 1999, at the Convent of St. John the Baptist, Mendham, New Jersey:

Present: Shimpfky (Co-Chair), Trichel (Co-Chair), Crew (Secretary)

Batjer, Garrett, Macneice, Sellers-Petersen, Sessum, Weiss, Westigard

Also: Mary Miller, consultant for Episcopal Peace Fellowship

And on the 10th only, Brian Grieves (Staff liaison) and Rosemari Sullivan

(Executive Officer of General Convention)

Absent: Duracin, Harris, Daniels, Downs

Initial check-in included reports on the various site visits of different groups. To economize on space and to give focus to the most important material, we chose to organize our Blue Book report around the resolutions arising out of our work. We divided into sub-groups to draft sections of the work and then reported back to the full Commission. We left the meeting with specific portions of the Blue Book to complete in draft form and circulate to the full Commission for feedback by email by November 1st.

Those drafts did circulate to the full Commission electronically on schedule.

On December 2-5, 1999, at the Duncan Center, Del Rae Beach, Florida:

Absent: Batjer, Harris, Daniels, Downs, Sellers-Petersen, Shimpfky (Co-Chair)

We spent the full time in several sessions editing our Blue Book Report line by line. Copies of our ‘final version’ went out to the absent members of the Commission on December 6th for their review and comment. We expect to file the Report with the General Convention Office ahead on December 20th, 1999, one month ahead of the January 20th deadline.
