Deputy Support for LBG Issues in 1994

Deputy Support for LBG Issues in 1994

In 1994 the House of Deputies recorded a vote by orders on 7 belwether votes regarding lesbigay issues. Kim Byham reported the tallies in both orders in the post-convention issue of the Voice of Integrity, Fall 1994/Winter 1995, pages 50-51. The map above shows how the votes are distributed geographically. Dioceses are coded by color to reflect the percent of their support of lesbigays. When a bishop was at variance with his diocese by 20+ percent, the diocese contains a blue circle if the bishop was more supportive than the deputies or a red dot if the bishop was less supportive than the deputies.

Note: the bishops did not vote on the same issues. The percent of support for a bishop derives from the bishop's vote on all belwether lbg issues since that bishop arrived in the House of Bishops.

Percent positive towards lesbigay issues on LBG Issues
