Effective July 1, 1998, subject to agreement with The Episcopal Church Medical Trust "the Medical Trust") and its healthcare vendors, The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America ("The Society") will make medical and dental coverage available to domestic partners of covered employees requesting such coverage. Therefore, The Society is amending its administrative guidelines to reflect the following rules regarding domestic partnerships.

Coverage for an employee and his or her domestic partner will be available if the coverage is available from The Medical Trust and its healthcare vendors. Provided the employee is also to be covered, the employee may enroll a domestic partner and the partner's eligible dependents in any medical and/or dental plan offered by The Society through The Medical Trust and its designated healthcare vendor. Healthcare benefits for domestic partners may not be available in every medical market or from every healthcare vendor offered through The Medical Trust.
