Finding Old Messages You Wrote in mm

Many have said that they can't find old messages and thus assume that accidentally they have erased them. More likey, your messages are still there, but just don't show up.

MM thinks you want to see only the new messages each time you log on. Therefore, those are the only ones that it lists for you when you first log on. You can, however, force you to show you your old messages. When you quit this message, quit back to the basic MM> prompt. At that point, enter

headers all

or just

h a

You might prefer to type:

headers from lcrew

or

headers from lcrew since Monday

Then you will review special collections that you have requested. For help in how to narrow your request, at any mm prompt, type

help message-sequence

Once you have found messages that you want to read, you may read them by entering:

read 1, 4:6, 19 [fill in the actual numbers you want]

or

read from lcrew since Monday

or

read text pope [this chooses any message with 'pope' in it]

......

There are many more ways to control your email reading.

Enjoy cyberspace!
