I assume you are using nn to read the messages?
If so:
While reading a message, r lets your reply to the sender
f lets you post reply to entire group
Once you choose either, nn throws you into your editor to write a message.
You must know the commands of your editor (vi? emacs?) When finished
writing your message, use your editor's commands to write the message (ZZ
in vi; Ctrl-X Ctrl-W Ctrl-X Ctrl-C in emacs). Then choose S(end) from the
prompt that you are given.
To post a new message that is not a reply, at the main menu of any group,
enter
:post
When prompted to name the group(s), do so. When prompted for a subject,
give one. THen you will be put into your editor to write the message.
You may use your editors commands to "read into" your message any file
which you have already created with the message.
These routines actually are not easy to learn.
I hope this instruction helps.
P.S. It's much easier to show you than to write out the instructions.
Try to get someone in the labs to show you.
Enjoy!
