Ctrl-Z will suspend almost any unix program;
fg will return you to the program after you
have done whatever you wanted to do.
This trick is a huge time saver. At times I am four levels down
before I start fg'ing my way back.
If I lose my way, I enter:
ps -aux|grep lcrew
That tells the computer to list everything that lcrew is doing
Enjoy cyberspace!
