ANNOUNCING -- Teleconferences from the Episcopal Church Philadelphia
General Convention and Episcopal Church Women Triennial Meeting
You are invited to participate in three live satellite teleconferences, two
with news reports from the Episcopal Church General Convention and one from
a joint convention session of the House of Deputies, the House of Bishops
and the Triennial Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women. The telecasts
will originate in Philadelphia. There are no registration fees for
participation.
You are encouraged to arrange a local downlink site at a cathedral, church,
school or organization in your community which has satellite equipment.
These sites are usually available at little or no cost. But, advance
arrangements are essential so you can be assured of a site and can do local
publicity.

THURSDAY, JULY 17, 4 to 6:30 p.m., Eastern time:
Episcopal Church Women will present a teleconference with speakers and a
discussion forum on "Advocacy for Youth and Children at Risk."
Participants in Philadelphia and the downlink sites will have small group
discussions and offered an opportunity to make commitments to this ministry
of care and concern. Contact your diocesan ECW leaders or Ethan Flad for
details.
SATURDAY, JULY 19, 7 to 9 p.m., Eastern time:
The first of two teleconference news reports live from the Philadelphia
General Convention of the Episcopal Church. Coverage will include the
Convention Eucharist with the Archbishop of Canterbury, legislative actions
to that point of the convention, and a live phone-in question and answer
period.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 6 to 8 p.m., Eastern time; and again from 10 p.m. to
midnight, Eastern time (for Mountain and Pacific time zone participants):
The second of two live telecasts from General Convention, with coverage of
the first news conference with the Presiding Bishop-Elect. Election by the
House of Bishops and presentation to the House of Deputies for concurrence
is presently scheduled for Monday, July 21. This telecast will also present
a summary of legislative action and include a question and answer period.
