An international collaborative effort to document the participation of Christian women in the religion and society of medieval Europe by collecting and making available data about professional Christian women in Europe between 400 and 1600 C.E. Has as its basis the Monasticon which documents some 2646 women's religious communities of every size, affiliation, and rule, including hospitals, asylums, and pilgrim hospices. The Bibliographia is a searchable database of over 5000 citations to primary, and secondary, published and unpublished sources related to women’s religious lives.
