- Council for Excellence in Government
- "Founded in 1983, the Council is a nonprofit organization of more than 750 members,
or Principals, throughout the country who have served as senior public officials and now
hold leadership roles in a wide range of corporate and other private sector organizations.
In pursuing its mission to improve the performance of government, the Council carries out
long-term programs directed at two principal goals. These are to strengthen
results-oriented management and creative leadership in the public sector, and to increase
public understanding, confidence, and participation in government. The organization's past
successes have brought growing opportunities for the bold and imaginative use of Council
assets and experience in a broader field of action. The Council's prime strengths are the

commitment to its mission."

people in all walks of life grapple with perplexing issues like total quality management,
benchmarking, productivity, and more. ASQC was founded in 1946 with the merger of several
