This book,
Building Good Governance: Reforms in
Seoul,
published by the
National
Center for Public Productivity and the Seoul Development
Institute, contains as cases the reforms which Seoul planned and
administered. It addresses the impacts of those reforms as well
as difficulties and problems in the implementation process.
As there has
rarely been such analytical and comparative information
available on reform cases in the Asian region, this book should
prove to be an invaluable contribution to the countries which
plan to promote similar reforms.
The book
consists of four major sections: enhancing transparency,
improving integrity, upgrading responsiveness, and increasing
productivity. In the volume, there are discussions as to the
background and the application process, the problems discovered
in the application process, the efforts to overcome those
problems, and the program effects of the specific reform
project.
