Northeast Conference on Public Administration Call for Officer Nominations
We invite nominations identifying qualified and motivated individuals to serve as officers of the Northeast Conference on Public Administration (NECoPA), an association of scholars and practitioners of public administration in the Northeast region of the United States. This call for nominations will result in the inaugural slate of officers for this new organization, thus making this initial call crucial to the short- and long-term success of the organization. Nominations are sought for the following positions:
- Chair (3-year term, 2011-2014)
- Chair-Elect (3-year term, 2011-2014; 3-year term as chair, 2014-2017)
- Secretary (3-year term, 2011-2014)
- Treasurer (3-year term, 2011-2014)
- Trustees (3 with a 3-year term, 2011-2014)
- Trustees (3 with a 2-year terms, 2011-2013)
- Trustees (2 with a 1-year term, 2011-2012)
- Student Representative (1-year term, 2011-2012)
Every nominee must be a member in good standing, both in the profession and in the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). The Nominating Committee will endeavor to maintain a balanced representation on the election ballot.
Nomination Guidelines

Nominees must be members in good standing in the profession and in either District I or II of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).

Nominations must state the reasons for the nomination, listing specific qualifications in the nomination email (see nomination procedures below).
- Individual members may nominate themselves.
Nomination Procedures Prepare a nomination email message specifying your reasons for the nomination, including the following information about the nominee:
a. history in the field of public administration b. present professional position c. demonstrated interest in supporting and promoting the mission of NECoPA d. willingness to stand for election e. commitment to serve and fulfill the duties of the position sought

The Northeast Conference on Public Administration (NECoPA) was founded in October 2010 at the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University-Newark. SPAA will continue to serve as the official secretariat for NECoPA, playing an integral part in the development of this important regional organization for public administration practitioners and academics.
