Frank J. Thompson is a Professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers-Newark and an affiliated faculty member at the Rutgers Center for State Health Policy in New Brunswick. Prior to this, he served as Dean of the Rockefeller College at the University at Albany, SUNY, and as Professor of Political Science and Department Head at the University of Georgia. Thompson has published extensively on issues of politics and administration, public management, and health policy. He currently has a Robert Wood Johnson Investigator Award to study Medicaid, federalism and health care reform. Thompson served as a Fellow with the U.S. Public Health Service and as Executive Director of the National Commission on the State and Local Public Service. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.
