Each fall, SPAA sponsors Public Service Week – an entire week devoted to volunteerism and global community engagement celebrated throughout the Rutgers-Newark campus and the City of Newark. All of the Rutgers-Newark community – students, faculty and staff – devote the entire week exploring the roles of public servants within local and global communities. Events are held throughout the week including panel discussions and a Community Organization Fair.

The week concludes with Public Service Day, where students spend their day serving and learning while they explore the roles of public servants within the Newark community and interact with a diverse group of peers while volunteering on projects of interest.
