The Public Service Major and Minor offered
at the School of Public Affairs and Administration, Rutgers SPAA

The public service program at Rutgers SPAA offers students a focused, interdisciplinary exposure designed to bring students to a deeper understanding of their roles as public servants, in the context of civic engagement. The program provides students with the substantive knowledge, analytical skills, and perspectives needed to respond effectively and fairly to major contemporary social problems. Students majoring in public service receive excellent preparation for careers in public service as well as for further study in graduate professional schools.

Major in Public Service
Requires 35 credits that include:

1. Public Service core courses (15 credits)

2. Service-Learning courses (8 credits)
