A Call for Case Studies

The School of Public Affairs and Administration is calling for Case Studies to advance the classroom learning experience of graduate students pursuing public and nonprofit management studies.

Cases will address current day, contemporary topics in the public and nonprofit sectors with real-time practical applications. Case Studies must be linked to multi-media sources – news, videos, movies, social networks, and others.

Who
Academics and Practitioners are encouraged to participate.

Why
The creation of a contemporary, real-time case studies resource for teachers and students will expand our ability to use current social, political, economic, cultural, education issues to link theory to practical applications. Leadership development for academic and for practitioner pursuits will be enhanced with “live” case studies on current and emerging situations.

Proposal Inclusions
1) summarize the case study, 2) cite literature to be reviewed, 3) specify the methodology, 4) highlight the conclusions, 5) propose applications to field of study/topic, and 6) cite multimedia links. (Cases will be peer reviewed.)

Use
Case Studies selected and produced will be published on the Rutgers SPPA Case Study Portal and in a bound printed volume (print on demand; contributing authors will receive a copy of the printed volume). We anticipate wide dissemination as web-based cases will be available to faculty and students at no charge, and links to followup news articles, multimedia materials, etc. will be updated periodically.

Deadlines
Proposals by December 1, 2010; Full Case Study by April 1, 2011.
