Glass bead making began at GlassRoots as an exercise in creative writing. Within weeks, our first young glass artists had created beads with stripes, dots, ribs, latticini (twisted 2-color glass ribbons) and new forms = barrel beads, square beads, tube beads and, most difficult of all -- hollow beads. This spring beadmaking reached new levels of sophistication with a riot of heart beads for our Valentine's Day celebration.
