The first phase of a 2-part capital improvement project at 10 Bleeker Street focuses on building the glass blowing hotshop, and renovating the basic building infrastructure. Following this, phase two of the project will include the renovation of the design and business skill training studios, the gallery, and office space.
The ultimate goal of GlassRoots is to guide area youth to a path of personal achievement and self-sufficiency, and for the GlassRoots Center to become part of the wider trend toward economic redevelopment and community renewal of Newark through the arts.
