In 2001 four internships were created to grant PLWS minors and majors the opportunity to earn university credit while gaining valuable professional experience in Newark’s private and public sectors.  Rutgers-Newark juniors and seniors who are pursuing a minor/major in Portuguese and Lusophone World Studies may register, with permission of instructor, for any of the internships listed below.  Advanced Portuguese language skills are preferred for all positions.  Each internship carries three credits, and fulfils one elective course requirement for both the minor and the major.
