Most guests will stay within Woodward Hall, our ten story housing facility which can accommodate about 340 guests. Woodward hall features 54 suite style rooms designed to house six guests per suite. The building features a TV lounge, 24 hour computer lab, laundry facilities, vending machines, lounges on every floor plus two attached meeting spaces Stonsby Lounge and, the largest, Stonsby Commons, which can accommodate about 200 guests and features a 10 foot projection TV and entertainment system. The building is staffed 24 hours a day with a team of Community Assistants that can assist with everything from directions to presenting evening and late night programming for the members of your group. We cater to every group individually and will gladly make special arrangements that will meet your specific needs.
Rutgers Newark is an excellent place for groups to have conferences, workshops and conduct research. An excellent selection of services, activities, programs and facilities are available on campus and in the adjacent community. Rutgers Newark is in the University Heights section of downtown Newark, 20 minutes from Manhattan via car or New Jersey Transit train. With the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark Bears Stadium, the Newark Symphony Hall, the nationally renowned Newark Museum, and a rich cultural heritage, the city of Newark offers many opportunities for fun and enrichment.
Local points of interest found near University Heights are three institutions of higher education, the Liberty Science Center and the Meadowlands Sports Arena.
