**CHEMSKILL ONLINE will count as 50 points toward your final grade (5 pts. per assigned unit).

IN ORDER TO BEGIN USING CHEMSKILL, go to www.chemskillbuilder.com
Double click on the center of the screen and go to "New Student Registration"
For Instructor, click on "Lalancette"  - course ID should come up "generalchemistry116"

                   Total
450 POINTS

405 points, or 90% of the total, guarantees an A in the course; B guaranteed by 360 points; C guaranteed by 292 points; D requires 225 points; less than 225 total will yield a grade of  F.

Last day to drop a course or withraw with a W = March 28

Don't even ask if there are extra credit points or papers to increase grades.
If you do your work [namely, come to class, go to recitation, read the assigned chapters, do the recommended problems (at the very least), do the ChemSkill every week], then you should do OK in this course.
Let's make sure that you understand:  this is a 4-credit course.  For every credit, you should be spending 3 hours outside of class per week, reading, doing problems, and studying.  That means:  for this class alone you have to spend 4-1/2 hours in lecture and recitation, then an extra 12 hours per week reading, doing ChemSkill and other problems!
