The aim of this study is to utilize the views and perceptions of young people who have participated in offending in order to get some firsthand ideas about why, and how, young people "desist" from offending. Twenty-five young people with a conviction history were interviewed to gather insights into the ways in which they made the decision to either re-offend or to move away from criminal activity.
