Law Reform Commission of Ireland
The Law Reform Commission is an independetn statutory body corporate established under the Law Reform Commission Act, 1975, to keep the law under the review and to make recommendations for its reform. The Irish Penal Reform Trust is an independent organization campaigning for dignity, justice and humane approaches in the development and implementation of penal systems, particularly in the Republic of Ireland. This site outlines the Trust's aims and mission supported by the publication online of the Trust Policy statements on matters such as drugs and the penal system; sex offenders; restorative justice; women and the penal system; overuse of prison in Ireland; and the need for an independent prison authority.
The Irish Prisons Service has been established as an independent executive agency, apart from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. This link goes to their website, which is partially under construction, but contains a large number of publications and press releases.
The Probation Service
The Probation Service is part of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. They assess and manage offenders in the community on behalf of the Courts Service and the Prison Service. The website offers information as to the activities of the Service as well as research materials.

European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) - Country Overview
The EMCDDA country overview provides a structured synopsis of the trends and characteristics of national drug problems. It consists of a summary of the national drug situation, key statistics at a glance and a barometer showing the drug use prevalence position of Ireland.
National Advisory Committee on Drugs (NACD) Publications
This site houses multiple reports about drugs in Ireland, including general publications, those relating to community/voluntary sector, consequences, prevalence, prevention, and treatment and rehabilitation. All publications are available to view or free to download.
Documentation Centre on Drug Use
The National Documentation Centre (NDC) is an information resource providing researchers with access to electronic and hardcopy documentation on all aspects of drug use. Visitors to the web site can use the Electronic Library of Irish drug-related research and a range of other valuable research material.
This site is a free resource for primary legal materials for Ireland. Designed to complement the British and Irish Legal Information Institute's (BAILII) resources, cases are listed by subject and alphabetically by party. The site also includes law reports and published statutes.

The website of the Data Protection Commissioner offers extensive information on individual's rights and organization's responsibilities. Publications, frequently asked questions, information about enforcement, case studies, news and links are provided.
The website of the Garda Siochana (Ireland's police force) provides annual reports, as well as a collection of publications and documents. Some documents are in English and some are in Gaeilge.

The Private Security Authority is the statutory body with responsibility for licensing and regulating the private security industry in Ireland. Association for Criminal Justice Research and Development
The ACJRD website provides the visitor with extensive information in respect to the administration of criminal justice, the causes and prevention of crime and the treatment of offenders. The website includes publications, research, reports and links.
National Crime Council
The National Crime Council provides information on crime prevention and served as an independent source of policy advice to Government. Though it has since ceased operations, users may access statistics, publications, links and other information.
