Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) - Council of Europe

GRECO evaluation procedures involve the collection of information through questionnaire(s), on-site country visits enabling evaluation teams to solicit further information during high-level discussions with domestic key players, and drafting of evaluation reports. These reports, which are examined and adopted by GRECO, contain recommendations to the evaluated countries in order to improve their level of compliance with the provisions under consideration. Measures taken to implement recommendations are subsequently assessed by GRECO under a separate compliance procedure

The Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) has published its Third Round Evaluation Report on Turkey. The report has been made public with the agreement of the country’s authorities. It focuses on two distinct themes: criminalization of corruption and transparency of party funding.

This overview presents a comprehensive overview of the drugs situation in Turkey. Topics covered in the country overview include: drug use among the general population and young people, prevention, problem drug use, treatment demand, drug-related infectious diseases, drug-related deaths, treatment responses, harm reduction responses, drug markets and drug-related offences, national drug laws, national drug strategy, coordination mechanism in the field of drugs and drug-related research. Annual Reports to Congress on Human Rights Practices - Turkey
These reports, produced by the U.S. Department of State, to the U.S. Congress. The law provides that the Secretary of State shall transmit a "full and complete report regarding the status of internationally recognized human rights, within the meaning of subsection (A) in countries that receive assistance under this part, and (B) in all other foreign countries which are members of the United Nations and which are not otherwise the subject of a human rights report under this Act." Reports on several countries are included that do not fall into the categories established by these statutes and that thus are not covered by the congressional requirement. The reports cover internationally recognized individual, civil, political, and worker rights, as set forth in the Univeral Declaration of Human Rights. (website).

These reports, produced by the U.S. Department of State, describe the status of religious freedom in Turkey, government policies violating religious belief and practices of groups, religious denominations, and individuals, and U.S. policies to promote religious freedom around the world. It is submitted in compliance with the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.

Almanac Turkey : Security Sector and Democratic Oversight
As to the 2005 yearbook: "[t]his book discusses background, advances and challenges of security sector reform and democratic oversight in Turkey in the face of possible EU membership. It comments on civil-military relations and the issue of civilian and democratic oversight and control mechanisms over a whole array of security institutions, including the police, gendarmerie, intelligence services and others. The book provides an account of the security agencies, their organizational features, declared and undeclared operational principles, activities, authority structures, the legal framework under which they operate, their basic approaches and the changes and bottlenecks they have experienced." As to the 2006-2008 yearbook "aim[s] to provide public information about security sector institutions and policies in Turkey. In addition to examining the developments which occurred in the Turkish Security Sector between 2006 and 2008, this second Almanac also focuses on the discussions surrounding the positions of security actors in political and social life."
